'Juice Organics' Pomwash Exfoliating Facial Foamer - Review

It is really difficult to find a great facial cleanser that doesn't contain harsh ingredients. I have tried many different facial cleansers, most of which were unsatisfactory. The main problem I had is many cleansers are difficult to fully wash off skin, so they leave behind soapy residue that clogs the pores and causes breakouts. I wanted a foam facial cleanser that would be light on the skin and easily wash off my face. Of course it had to be organic, as well. I think I may have found my new favorite organic face cleanser: 'Juice Organics' Pomwash Exfoliating Facial Foamer.

Product Details

'Juice Organics' Pomwash Exfoliating Facial Foamer is an organic, antioxidant-rich face cleanser that contains a blend of organic pomegranate and grape juices mixed with papaya and pineapple enzymes for exfoliation. Pure essential oils and other natural ingredients including Aloe Vera leaf juice, pumpkin seed extract, and others, are also added to this product. 'Juice Organics' Pomwash Exfoliating Facial Foamer can be found on Amazon for about $15 for 5 fl. oz. View the product below:

My Personal Results

I love the foaming consistency of this product against my face. You just need to pump out a small amount of the foam as a little bit goes a long way. The foam spreads nicely across my skin, so even application is inevitable. Plus, I am very impressed with how easily the foam rinses off my face. No more repeat rinsing for five minutes just to remove remaining residue. The scent of this product is very pleasant, it definitely smells of pomegranate. I have also experienced phenomenal results from this facial cleanser; my skin looks brighter and feels softer. Furthermore, the acne on my chin is disappearing, which I'm assuming this is due to the fruit enzymes. I am very happy with 'Juice Organics' Pomwash Exfoliating Facial Foamer, and will definitely continue using it.

The Bottom Line

If you're looking for a gentle, lightweight facial cleanser with that amazing foaming action, you will love 'Juice Organics' Pomwash Exfoliating Facial Foamer. The price is a little higher than drugstore products, but this product lasts about a month with daily use. Since this is the second product I've tried from 'Juice Organics', I can safely say I am impressed with the quality and results of their organic facial line. Of course, you may experience different results because everybody has different skin chemistry.

April

MyFitnessPal.com - Review

Keeping healthy and in shape is extremely important to me, so the other day I decided to look for a free app or website that would essentially allow me to track everything I eat in a journal. Well, I found that and more at MyFitnessPal.com. I actually downloaded the app to my smartphone so that I can record my exercise and diet everywhere I go for convenience. Rarely do I actually log on to the actual website, mainly because I'm more used to the app. However, I tried out the website version today so I could write a complete review.

MyFitnessPal.com may be the best fitness website/app ever created. It's basically the free version to WeightWatchers.com and all those paid dieting programs. MyFitnessPal.com has so many useful, convenient features that are so easy to use. Upon joining, you are required to record your initial weight, height, gender, and then goal weight. The system then calculates how many calories you must consume each day to reach your goal.

Here's how it works:

You simply search for whatever food you ate and find it in the website's database, which includes practically every brand of food at the grocery store and major restaurant chain foods. If the database doesn't include the food item, you can manually add it. Once you find the particular food, you simply add it to one of the following categories: breakfast, lunch, dinner or snack. The system adds the food from the database into your journal, and automatically records the calories and nutritional value include fats, sugar, protein, carbs, etc. down the exact gram. I love this part because the system automatically charts everything for you, so at the end of the day, you can view your reports and know how to adjust your diet the next day. The charts imply how many grams of fats, sugar, protein, and carbs you should be consuming, and then compares that number with how many you actually consumed. You can view charts from that week, month, year, etc. and view your weight progress.

Exercise works the same way: you simply find whatever exercise you completed in the database. You specify how many minutes you engaged in the exercise, and then the system automatically calculates how many calories your burned. This amount is subtracted from your daily calorie recommendation total, so you can see how exercising effects how quickly or slowly you take to reach your personal caloric goals. Reporting charts are provided for exercise, as well.

Other features include a personal meal section where you can obviously choose from a customized meal you previously added. They system saves these meals so you can reference them at any time. Another feature is the recipe section, where you can add recipes to the system. You can also connect with other members can team up with your weight-loss or fitness goals. This really isn't my thing, so I never use it. I think MyFitnessPal includes some other features, too, that I am not aware of because I do not use them. Altogether, MyFitnessPal is exactly what it says: a true fitness pal, so I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a fun, personal, easy way to lose weight, keep in shape, or gain muscle. Having this app on my phone forces me to become more conscious of the kinds of foods I eat, which subsequently has improved my overall health. I will definitely keep using MyFitnessPal.com.

'Desert Essence' Blemish Touch Stick - Review

In the latter part of my last post "Naturally Clear Skin", I mentioned I would be reviewing a natural tea oil acne product. I've only used the 'Desert Essence Blemish Touch Stick' three days now, but my results have been impressive so far. As I mentioned in my previous post, healthy skin is closely associated with your diet. Your skin often reveals the types of foods you are eating. Of course, there are other non-diet related factors involved too, including stress levels, beauty regime, and overall health to name a few. Anyway, I decided to severely limit my consumption of those acidic foods and increase my water consumption. Plus, I'm drinking more fresh-brewed green tea. Although improving my diet has vastly helped clear up the actual breakouts, it hasn't significantly improved the acne scars on my chin, which is why I decided to purchase the 'Desert Essence Blemish Touch Stick'.

Product Details

'Desert Essence Blemish Touch Stick' is a natural solution that is designed mainly for breakouts, but can also be used on insect bites and other minor skin irritations. I don't recommend using it on open wounds, like cuts. This solution contains Eco-Harvest Tea Tree Oil, which is an amazing antiseptic that works wonders on breakouts. Other natural essential oils included in this product are:
  • Lavender
  • Rosemary
  • Blue chamomile
  • Calendula
  • Thyme
  • Petitgrain
  • Birch
 ...to name a few

There are NO synthetic perfumes, dyes, or chemical ingredients included! I am very selective about the products I put on my face, so I try very hard to watch out for crappy ingredients. So, as far as I'm aware, this blemish stick is 100% natural. If I'm wrong, feel free to leave a comment at the bottom of this post! :-)

My Personal Results

The 'Desert Essence Blemish Touch Stick' comes in a frosted glass bottle with a roll-on applicator, which I love because I can reuse it. It is easy to roll the solution onto your skin, directly over breakouts, scars, or blemishes. I'm not going to lie, the solution smells very strong. I don't recommend applying the solution directly before eating or going anywhere. I use the product after washing my face before going to sleep. By the time I get up in the morning, the smell has dissipated. Some people apply the solution twice per day for faster results. The solution kind of stings a little bit after a couple of seconds after applying it to the skin. This stinging personally doesn't bother me because I feel like it's working. After just three days of using this solution, I have noticed my scattered breakouts are reducing in size and the redness is going away. I'm hoping this stuff works on acne scars. As I said, just three days of use and I'm already seeing a significant difference.

The Bottom Line

Desert Essence is very diligent about incorporating quality, natural ingredients in their skin care products, so it's no surprise that the 'Blemish Touch Stick' is an amazing, multifunctional solution. Not only does it work on acne, but also alleviates insect bites, minor burns, and other minor skin blemishes. I personally think the 'Desert Essence Blemish Touch Stick' is a great product to have around the home at all times. You can purchase 'Desert Essence' Blemish Touch Stick at Amazon.com for under $10 for .33 ounces. I think it's a good investment, considering how multifunctional and potent the solution is. Plus, the roll-on applicator prevents waste and causes the solution to last a long time (depending on usage).
